Overview
The Articles component allows you to organize and publish educational or informational content on your website. Articles are organized into categories and can be viewed online by visitors or printed as educational materials.
Many of the articles in this section are drawn from These Truths We Hold, a classic introduction to the Orthodox Faith originally written by a monk of St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Monastery in northeastern Pennsylvania. This work provides a clear and concise exposition of the traditions, teachings, and practices of the Orthodox Church.
Although written as an introduction for visitors and inquirers, it is also a substantial and comprehensive work, and remains one of the fullest English-language catechetical presentations of the Orthodox Faith. These articles are offered for those preparing to enter the Church, as well as for Orthodox Christians and other readers who wish to deepen their understanding of what the Orthodox Church believes and teaches.
You can access this feature by navigating to:
Components → Articles
The Articles interface displays all categories and articles in a structured tree view that allows you to easily manage content and reorganize it as needed.
Understanding the Article Structure
Articles are organized using a category system that allows you to group related content together.
The hierarchy looks like this:
- Categories (folders)
- Subcategories
- Articles within each category
This structure helps visitors navigate educational materials and allows administrators to keep content organized.
Shared Articles
Some articles may come from a shared library provided by Orthodox Web Solutions. These shared resources are typically educational materials available to multiple websites.
Shared articles can be viewed and used within your site’s article structure, but they may not always be editable depending on permissions.
Creating a Category
Categories act like folders that organize articles.
- Go to Components → Articles.
- Click Create Category.
- Select the parent category if creating a subcategory.
- Enter the category details.
- Save the category.
Categories can be nested to create deeper organizational structures if needed.
