Managing Images

The Images section under Media allows you to upload, organize, and manage all images used on your website. These images can be inserted into pages, news items, slideshows, and other components throughout the Site Manager.

Images are stored in folders so they can be organized by purpose, such as:

  • Homepage images
  • Event photos
  • Ministry galleries
  • Article illustrations
  • Icons and graphics

Uploading Images

  1. Navigate to Media → Images.
  2. Open the folder where the images should be stored.
  3. Drag images into the upload area, or click the upload box to select images from your computer.

Supported image formats include:

  • JPG / JPEG
  • PNG
  • GIF
  • WEBP
  • HEIC / HEIF

After uploading, thumbnails are automatically generated so images load quickly in the manager.

Resize on Upload

If enabled, the system can automatically resize large images during upload to improve website performance. This option can be toggled from the Images menu.

Organizing Images with Folders

Folders help keep your media library organized.

To create a new folder:

  1. Enter a folder name in the Create a new directory field.
  2. Click Create.

Folders can be:

  • Renamed
  • Moved to another location
  • Deleted

Managing Images

Each image includes a menu with several actions:

  • Edit – Open the built-in image editor.
  • Rename – Change the filename.
  • Duplicate – Create a copy of the image.
  • Delete – Remove the image.

Clicking the image opens a preview window where you can:

  • View the full-size image
  • Download the image
  • Open the image editor

Bulk Image Actions

Multiple images can be selected at once to perform bulk actions.

Available bulk actions include:

  • Rotate images (90° or 180°)
  • Optimize images to reduce file size
  • Copy images to another folder
  • Move images to another folder
  • Delete images

To use bulk actions:

  1. Select one or more images using the checkboxes.
  2. Choose an action from the Apply Action menu.
  3. Click Go.

Browsing Images

Images can be viewed in two ways:

  • Thumbnail view – Displays a visual grid of images.
  • Detailed list – Displays filenames, dimensions, sizes, and last modified dates.

Large folders may automatically switch to the detailed list view for better performance.

Searching and Filtering

You can quickly locate images by:

  • Using the search box
  • Filtering by file type (JPG, PNG, GIF)

Adjusting Thumbnail Size

The thumbnail zoom slider at the bottom of the page allows you to increase or decrease the preview size of images while browsing.

Best Practices

  • Use descriptive filenames (e.g., st-george-feast-day.jpg).
  • Organize images into folders to keep your library manageable.
  • Optimize large images to improve website performance.
  • Avoid uploading extremely large photos directly from modern cameras without resizing.
