Configuring an Email Form

Email forms allow visitors to contact your organization directly from a page on your website. The Email Form component can route messages to specific recipients, collect contact details from visitors, and display a confirmation message after submission.

This guide explains how to add an email form to a page and configure its basic settings.

Adding an Email Form to a Page

  1. Go to Media → Pages.
  2. Edit the page where you want the form to appear.
  3. Add a new section and choose Components – Email Form.
  4. Save the page to open the Email Form configuration panel.

Once the section is added, you can configure recipients, fields, confirmation actions, and styling using the tabs at the top of the configuration screen.

Recipients

The Recipients tab controls who receives messages submitted through the form.

You can choose between two recipient modes:

  • Default Contacts – Uses contacts from your main contact directory.
  • Custom Recipients – Allows you to manually define specific recipients for this form.

If using the default contacts list, you may manage those contacts under:

Components → Contacts

Only contacts with a valid email address will appear in the form.

Recipient Delivery Options

The email form provides several ways to deliver submissions:

  • Visitor Selection – Visitors choose which recipient receives the message.
  • First Recipient Only – The message is automatically sent to the first recipient listed.
  • Send to All Recipients – Every listed recipient receives the message.

If the "Show To" field is disabled, the visitor will not see the recipient list and the form will automatically send to the configured recipient(s).

Configuring Form Fields

The Fields tab controls which input fields appear on the form and whether they are required.

The standard email form fields include:

  • From – Visitor's name
  • Email – Visitor's email address
  • Subject – Message subject
  • Phone – Optional phone number
  • Comments – Main message content

For each field you may:

  • Show or hide the field
  • Make the field required or optional
  • Customize the field label
  • Set placeholder text inside the field

You may also attach a Form Group to display additional custom fields within the email form.

Email Subject Configuration

The subject line of the outgoing email can be customized using three settings:

  • Subject Prefix – Text added before the subject
  • Subject – Default subject line
  • Subject Suffix – Text added after the subject

This allows you to include consistent identifiers such as your website name or department.

Sender Address

The sender address determines the email address used when the system sends the message.

If left blank, the system will send the message from:

system@yourdomain.com

The visitor's email address will automatically be used as the reply-to address.

Confirmation Actions

After a visitor submits the form, you can choose what happens next.

Available options include:

  • Display a Message – Shows a confirmation message on the page.
  • Display a Section – Displays another section from your website.
  • Redirect to a Page – Sends the visitor to another page or URL.

The most common configuration is a simple confirmation message such as:

"Thank you. Your message has been sent."

Form Appearance

The Style tab allows you to control the visual appearance of the form.

Options include:

  • Field padding and spacing
  • Label alignment (left, right, or above fields)
  • Submit button text and icon
  • Button style or custom color
  • Table styling such as striped rows or hover highlighting
  • Showing labels or placeholder text

These settings allow the form to match the visual style of your website.

Spam Protection

Email forms automatically include several spam protection features:

  • Google reCAPTCHA verification
  • Honeypot spam traps
  • Blocked email and keyword filtering

These protections help prevent automated spam submissions.

Testing Your Form

After configuring your email form, it is recommended to test it before publishing the page.

  1. Submit a test message.
  2. Confirm the email is delivered to the intended recipient.
  3. Verify that the confirmation message or redirect appears correctly.

If the form is not delivering messages, check the configured recipients and verify that at least one valid email address is present.
