Email forwarders allow you to automatically redirect messages sent to one email address to another email address. This is useful when you want an address such as info@yourdomain.org or contact@yourdomain.org to deliver messages to an existing mailbox.
Accessing Email Forwarders
To manage email forwarders, go to:
Email → Forwarders
From this page you can create new forwarders or manage existing ones.
Creating an Email Forwarder
To create a new forwarder:
- Go to Email → Forwarders
- Click Create Forwarder
- Enter the email address you want to forward
- Select the domain
- Enter the destination email address
- Click Save
Forwarder Fields
- Forward email for account – The email address that will receive incoming messages.
- Domain – The domain associated with the email address.
- Destination Address – The email address where messages will be forwarded.
For example:
- Forwarder: info@yourdomain.org
- Destination: parishoffice@gmail.com
Any email sent to info@yourdomain.org will automatically be delivered to parishoffice@gmail.com.
Multiple Destinations
You may forward email to multiple addresses by separating them with commas.
Example:
info@yourdomain.org → secretary@yourdomain.org, priest@yourdomain.org
Each destination will receive a copy of the message.
Domain Handling
If you enter an address without a domain name, the selected domain will automatically be appended.
Example:
- Entering office with the domain yourdomain.org will create the address office@yourdomain.org.
Common Uses
- Forwarding public contact addresses to personal inboxes
- Sending messages to multiple parish leaders
- Creating simple email aliases without creating full mailboxes
Important Notes
- Email forwarders do not store messages on your server.
- Messages are simply redirected to the destination email address.
- If you need to store email on the server, create a full mailbox instead.
