Social Networks

The Social Networks area allows you to store the links to your parish or organization's social media accounts in one central location. Once configured, these links can automatically appear throughout your website in templates, page sections, and social sharing tools.

Accessing Social Networks

Navigate to:

Social → Networks

Here you can enter the URL for each social network your organization uses.

Adding or Updating Social Links

  1. Go to Social → Networks.
  2. Locate the social network you want to configure.
  3. Enter the full URL for your page or profile.
  4. Click Save.

For example:

If a network is left blank, it will simply not appear anywhere on your site.

Where Social Networks Appear

The social links you configure here serve as a centralized source for your website and can appear in several different ways.

Template Social Icons

Many site templates include social icons in the header or footer. These icons automatically pull their links from the Social Networks configuration.

You can control the placement of template elements in:

Design → Header/Footer

When a visitor clicks one of these icons, they will be taken directly to the corresponding social page you entered in the Social Networks settings.

Social Icons Section

You can also display social icons anywhere on a page using a section type.

  1. Edit a page.
  2. Click Add Section.
  3. Select Components – Social Icons.

This section automatically displays the networks you configured in Social → Networks, so you do not need to re-enter the URLs.

This is useful for:

  • Contact pages
  • Landing pages
  • Sidebars
  • Call-to-action sections

Social Stream Section

Site Manager also includes a section for displaying social media feeds directly on a page.

  1. Edit a page.
  2. Click Add Section.
  3. Select Components – Social Stream.

This section can embed live content feeds from platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube depending on the configuration of the stream.

Social Plugins

Additional social features can be enabled through plugins.

Navigate to:

Social → Plugins

Available plugins include:

  • Facebook Like/Share
  • Share Links
  • Share Toolbar
  • Social Tabs
  • Social Tabs Deluxe

These plugins allow visitors to share pages, interact with your social profiles, or view social content directly from your website.

Best Practice

Enter each social network URL only once in Social → Networks. Because templates, page sections, and plugins all pull from this central configuration, updating a link here will automatically update it everywhere on your website.
